I was somewhat disappointed in the difference between the promo pictures and the in hand versions. Usually the promo pictures are just okay and then the in hand model looks a lot better, but I think this is one time I felt the opposite. The promo pictures had deep, reddish brown and goldish tan shading that looked fantastic. When people started to receive their Acadias and I saw the pictures, he seemed a lot more brighter and orange. And that seems true for most all of them. Some are especially on the lighter side, missing that dark shading in the promo completely.
I was lucky enough to get a darker variation that is well shaded and the dapples are fairly nice, but he's still not what I was looking for. Beautiful, yes, but disappinting none the less.
I will enjoy him for a little while, but I have decided to try and seek a trade of him for the next Premier Club model that was recently revealed - Duende, a stoic standing spanish stallion (say that 5 times fast) sculpted and designed by Mindy Berg. Spanish horses are my favorite, so he is a must for me! He doesn't come out until August so Acadia gets to stay with me until then.
In the mean time, he'll be coming with me to Raise The Roof Live! tomorrow here in Region 4. I just got back from a family trip so I have just a day to get packed up and ready, and I'll be driving out there this afternoon to be there bright and early at 7 AM tomorrow morning. I'm excited to show again, even with a slightly smaller show string. It sounds like it's going to be a really fun show and perhaps I'll be able to bring home some big ribbons!
Wolfgang (the 3rd release in the 2017 Stablemate Club) is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, which is a day too late for me to show him, so I'll be stopping by the post office before I leave to pick him up since they receive him from UPS in the middle of the day for next day delivery. He'll get to show as well, even if just in the nick of time!
