I'm heading off to a show soon! Well, soon as in a month away. I'll be attending Off To The Races Live! in Columbia, MN on April 22nd. I'm bringing a whole herd of horses and a lot of them will be debuted for the first time at show, so we'll see how they do.
I won't lie, I'm really excited. So excited that I already have my tags and spreadsheets ready. Shows close enough to me that they are reasonable to attend are rare, so any time one comes up I freak out a little bit. This show is still a four hour drive from me, but that's about as close as they get from where I live. There might also be a show in May - North Star Live 2017 - that I'll attend if it does happen. The show holder hasn't announced anything yet but their website does have dates and info, I'm just holding out on sending in entry fees when I know it is actually for sure going to happen.
In any case, I'll certainly be posting a lot of pictures here from the show. It should be a lot of fun! I'm making a whole weekend out of it since it's such a far drive and I'm looking forward to it. This'll be my second live show, my first was North Star Live 2016 and I only brought about 20 horses with me. Now, I'm bringing nearly double that. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up, I don't know how people with 100+ horses handle that many! I'm trying to take baby steps :)
My collection is shrinking! Well, I'm actually just doing some spring cleaning. My saddlebred conga in particular got hit pretty hard, but I gave myself a 10 horse limit and I reached it. There's lots of tempting saddlebreds out there I'd like to add to it but I can't due to my own rules, and I kind of realized I wasn't entirely in love with every horse in the conga. So, that means some of them have to move out in order for me to be able to move more in! I went from 10 to 6 and I still have one for sale. My favorites are still in there - Spirit Mountain, Ama Dablam, and my liver chestnut DAH - and won't be going anywhere any time soon.
Some other horses that got moved out were a couple of 2016 Stablemate Club models that I didn't really care for, plus a couple of other minis that never really stuck with me. I'm still trying to move some more so be sure to check my ebay account on the Contact page.
Not all is lost, though, I do have some new arrivals that have been slowly coming in. I am trying to cut down on my purchases, though, and really focus on my upcoming shows in the next couple of months. We'll see how they go!
This will be my personal blog I'll use to talk about the going-ons of my hobby experience and who knows what else with rambles.
